In a city booming with retail and specialty shopping experiences, the design team was challenged to disrupt the status quo and deliver an energetic, welcoming space filled with moments of pause and surprise.
To achieve Avatar Coffee Roasters’ vision, the team took inspiration from the company’s brand with a nod to the owner’s travel to South America and the “coffee lifestyle”. The result is an interior that is rich, earthy, and moody with intentional and curated elements of old-world architecture meets modern expression, conveyed through arches, forms and textures. It’s a place where people come for morning coffee and stay throughout the day to evening happy hour, immersed in the powerful, transcendent nature of the space.
The new design includes a bar top for ordering menu items, a full coffee bar, a variety of seating options, and restrooms with a communal vanity area. Plants breathe life throughout the cafe, as plentiful as the signature sun and moon imagery that is a constant in all Avatar Coffee Roasters locations. The design team paid great attention to detail across the board for a full sensory experience, even down to the restrooms which are covered in trendy scratch-and-sniff banana wallpaper.
Founded on the love of coffee and love of people, Avatar Coffee Roasters is a place for the community to come together and embrace the coffee lifestyle.
