Home to One Digital’s rapidly growing West Region, the new space located in Irvine, CA worked to combine several strategic acquisitions into one location. With a distinct culture it was important for the space to support the company values of fresh thinking, teamwork, accountability, innovation and genuine enthusiasm for their purpose. Uniting three offices under one roof provided the perfect opportunity for a fresh start for all three groups and built the foundation for a successful future.

Employees were asked if they would use stand-up desks or not and they also voted on workstation design.
Were there any other kind of employee engagement activities?
Employees submitted suggestions for conference and meeting room names and voted on their favorites.
Was there any emphasis or requirements on programming for health and wellbeing initiatives for employees?
Yes, the space was designed with a walk and talk pathway to encourage movement, as well as sit/stand desks. Living walls were used as well as natural materials. The floor plan was designed to allow natural light and views for all. There also is a robust wellness program developed by One Digital’s internal wellness committee which includes monthly group activities and educational training seminars.
Were there any special or unusual construction materials or techniques employed in the project?
One Digital was looking for a space with natural and industrial materials combined. Corrugated metal that was painted was used as a digital display to incorporate the industrial but also add texture in an affordable way. Also, off the shelf metal screens were used and painted to create a light fixture element over the hospitality bar. Other light fixtures used were a basic clean style but positioned in a way that adds interest to the space. Careful consideration was taken to ensure light levels were consistent throughout this nonlinear layout.

Lack of privacy in the new workstations as they are smaller than the previous formats.
How did the company communicate the changes and moves?
Leadership provided regular updates to foster enthusiasm and detailed instructions including photos and maps to ensure a seamless first-day commute.
