H. Hendy Associates Fosters Collaboration at UST Global with New Headquarters Design

Interior Architecture Firm Uses High-Tech Features to Enable Global Teamwork

Aliso Viejo and Newport Beach, Calif. – (September 22, 2016) – UST Global, a leading digital services company for Global 1000 companies, recently selected H. Hendy Associates, a Newport Beach, California-based interior architecture and planning firm, to design the company’s new Aliso Viejo, California-based headquarters. UST Global recently relocated to a new, state-of-the-art, customer focused headquarters, nearby its previous headquarters, which was extensively renovated. The move was driven by rapid growth in business from its global customers as well as its growing employee base.

Hendy created a headquarters that represents the innovative and collaborative mindset of the UST Global brand. This will help the company to successfully engage its growing employee base and create an environment that enables seamless collaboration among team members, clients and consultants worldwide. The modern, engaging design features a variety of bright, energizing colors, abundant natural light, and technology-laden, flexible touch down spaces with laptop connections, creating an optimal environment for different types of working.

“Creating a new corporate headquarters for a high-tech company like UST Global requires a specialized approach and a deep understanding of how to integrate technology and video conferencing capabilities into sophisticated design elements and space plans,” said Megan Bethel project manager at Hendy. “Our goal in this design was to create a space that encourages both the use of technology and creative use of space, producing a workplace that not only engages employees but also helps to improve the firm’s operational efficiencies.”

The second floor of the headquarters houses the majority of the employees’ workstations, along with a variety of collaborative breakout spaces designed for different types of activities. Through the use of smaller personal workstations with lowered panels, bright white surfaces and open space to encourage workflow circulation, the design creates more “we” space for spontaneous interaction among team members. The space is anchored by a centralized employee breakroom that is adjacent to the building’s open, two-story foyer.

To accommodate for heads down focus time, the space includes several multi-purpose floating offices that can be reserved by individual employees or groups using an online reservation system. Additionally, there are two full-size conference rooms available for larger meetings. Each workspace features technology connection points and screen displays, allowing for flexible space use and video conferencing.

The third floor has a variety of client-facing features and workspaces, as well as the executive offices. The client-facing spaces accommodate the Digital Network Operations Center and an open area with a large digital screen to display network or marketing information for presentation purposes. It also includes a Creative Suite for brainstorming sessions with clients and consultants, and a residential-style client entertaining space, complete with a full dining room and lounge, creating the opportunity for personalized entertainment options. This floor also has several open lounge seating areas with comfortable touch down spots for collaboration, open video conference spaces that include televisions and conference tables for quick video calls, and a variety of large, enclosed conference rooms. The executive offices throughout the workspace are glass-enclosed, encouraging the flow of natural light and cultural transparency.

“We believe that every facility of UST Global is a place for people with a purpose,” said Alexander Varghese, Chief Administrative Officer of UST Global. “The new global headquarters will facilitate the company to successfully engage its growing employee base and create an environment that enables seamless collaboration among team members, clients and consultants worldwide. This is imperative for our client’s success in today’s digital era.”
